OPI Divine Swine!!!

I am so excited about the combo I have for you tonight! I got so many nice compliments on my Ulta For Bitten post yesterday and it still looked nice after 24+ hours of wear but I wanted some sparkle so I decided to top it with OPI Divine Swine from The Muppets Collection...I had a feeling these two would look awesome together. I was right!! It is an amazing combo!!

Divine Swine is a light purple/pinkish micro glitter with medium silver hex glitter. It is semi-sheer, I'm not sure you could get it opaque on its own, maybe after 4 or 5 coats but I don't like doing that many layers of any polish, especially not glitter! LOL

I LOVE the combo of these colors together! You can see the amber/bronze color from For Bitten peaking through the glitter! I wish I had better pics, this looks so much better in person!

I used 1 coat of DS on my index and ring fingers and 2 coats of DS on my middle and pinky so you ladies could see the difference in opacity. I topped all with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Orly Sec 'N Dry.

See the bronze peeking through?! OMG!!!!! DROOL!!

2 coats of Divine Swine on the left, 1 coat of Divine Swine on the right

How do you like this combo? I'm not gonna lie, I think it's pretty awesomesauce!

Ulta For Bitten!!

Hello lovelies!!! Hope your Monday is going well....or as well as any Monday can go! LOL Today I have one of my new Ulta polishes I got over the weekend, I couldn't wait to try this one! Ulta For Bitten (isn't that an awesome name!) is a black base packed with shimmer that changes from amber, fuschia, green and purple. The color change is more noticeable in the bottle than the nail but it does still translate to the nail (I had a hard time capturing the different colors in the pics, sorry about that).

I had no problems with application, it was a little streaky after the first coat but the second coat evened everything out.
This is 2 coats of For Bitten topped with 1 coat of Orly Sec 'N Dry.

What do you think of this color? I love it! I think it is a must-have color! Thanks to my friend Traci from The Trace Face Philes for telling me to get it! LOL

This is in the Ulta Professionals series and sells for $7.50 but you can often find them on sale!

Orly Sweet Peacock!!

Hello lovelies!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I have been super busy so this will be a quick post! I hope to be back later with an awesome addition to this mani. :-) This is the first time I have worn Orly Sweet Peacock, shame on me. It is so pretty!!! This is a gorgeous blue with a foil finish...but be warned it does not dry instantly like most foils, it dries like a "regular" polish. I accidentally messed up one of my fingers on me left hand and didn't have time to fix it before pics so you will be seeing my right hand in these pics.

This is 2 coats with 1 coat of Orly Sec 'N Dry.

Sweet Peacock is from Orly's Birds of A Feather Collection and can be found at Sally's and Ulta.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Turkey nails!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful US readers!!! I finally have a few minutes to do a quick post for my mani I am wearing on this wonderful Thanksgiving! I was inspired by a couple of my friends and fellow bloggers by their turkey manis and decided to be brave and try one myself.

Jacki at Adventures in Acetone had a great tutorial for a turkey and I though I might be able to replicate it. (You can find her tutorial HERE) The only tools I used for this mani were dotting tools. I am in desperate need for brushes, I never felt the need to have them since I am not artistically inclined. LOL This is why my feathers are rounded at the top instead of looking more "feathery" LOL Once I got to the head/neck I started getting into trouble, I just couldn't get the shape to look right.

I knew I could not attempt more than one turkey so I stamped feathers on the other nails with BM15 on all my other nails. I think this would have looked better if I had used creme polishes for the turkey. I have recently discovered I am SERIOUSLY lacking in creme polish....I am always drawn to the glitter and shimmer!! For my base on my ring finger (turkey nail) I used OPI Designer....de Better and for all the other fingers I used OPI Warm & Fozzie as my base. I am IN LOVE with Warm & Fozzie! I will have a post on it by itself next week! :) The feather stamping was done with China Glaze Cheers to You and the colors I used for the turkey were OPI Warm & Fozzie over OPI Symphony in Bronze (for opaqueness), OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress, China Glaze Street Racing and China Glaze Solar Power for the feathers and Sally Hansen White Tip and Sally Hansen Black Out for the eyes.

OK....here it goes! Try not to laugh too much!! ;-)

I hope you found this fun!!! I know he's not the best turkey ever but I had fun with it!! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving filled with family, love and yummy food!!

Mom's Nails!!!

Hello lovelies!!! How is you Thanksgiving week going so far? Mine has been crazy busy and will continue to be that way. LOL I have a couple Thanksgiving mani ideas in my head so I really hope I have a chance to try them! I am still wearing The Black Knight (with NO chips after all the cleaning and shopping I have been doing WOOT! I'm really impressed with Butter London!) but hope to do something more Thanksgiving-ish tonight.

In the meantime I have a mani I did on my mom a couple weeks ago (she has leaves on right now but I haven't had a chance to take pics). This was my very first stamping that I did on her, I think it turned out really pretty. I used China Glaze 108 Degrees with stamping in China Glaze Cheers to You with BM19.

I hope you enjoyed this mani!! I will hopefully be back tonight or in the morning with something Thanksgiving themed!

Butter London The Black Knight!!!!!

Hello lovely ladies (and gentlemen?)!!! I am so excited for this post today....I have found my knight in sparkling armor!! LOL I have on my very first butter LONDON polish and it does not disappoint!! I had been lemming The Black Knight ever since I first saw the promos for bL's limited edition holiday collection. While I have several other bL lemmings I was afraid of missing out on this one since it is limited edition so I picked this and Tart With A Heart (in the Dressing Table duo) as my very first bL's!! I am so happy I did, it has jumped into the ranks of my all-time favorite polishes!!

TBK is just amazing....it is a black base with glitter in black, pink, blue and silver but all those colors reflect each other so you see more colors than that even. It has an amazing formula, like butter. Think that's where they derived the name? LOL

The only downfall is that it is a very hungry glitter. You know how they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach? Well, the way to The Black Knight's heart must be through top coat. LOL I used 2 coats of TBK and topped it off with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Orly Sec 'N Dry. After that dried it appeared a little dull so I added 1 coat of Color Club top coat (it is pretty thick) and voila!! SHINE!!! I can't stop staring at my nails!!!

The cool thing about butter LONDON's bottles is that the big cap lifts off to reveal a smaller, round and very easy-to-work-with cap!

My barcode label came off when I was taking the bottle out of the packaging and will not stick back on. So, I have it but it's just laying in a drawer. LOL

DROOL!!!!

What do you think of The Black Knight? Will you be running out to buy it before it's not available anymore?

Butter London retails for $14 and can be purchased at butterlondon.com. They have a sale running now through November 23rd for 30% off all orders when you use the code CELEBRATE11.

You can also purchase The Dressing Table duo (which is your choice of The Black Knight with Tart With A Heart or Fairy Lights with Tart With A Heart) at Ulta. The set is $25, so there is $3 in savings.

My Twilight-Themed Breaking Dawn Mani!!

Hello again lovelies!! Time to show you my Breaking Dawn mani. :) It didn't turn out exactly as I had planned, and it is not perfect, but I am still pleased with it. I was planning on representing the cover of each book on four nails (not an exact replica, just a representation) and then doing feathers on my thumb for the part in Breaking Dawn where Bella wakes up covered in feathers. I tried free-handing the Eclipse ribbon and failed...I would have tried longer but I ran out of time. So, sadly, Eclipse is not represented....I just did feathers on that finger as well. I will post a pic of the book covers first, for any of you that may not be familiar with them.

Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn

Here is a pic of the full mani (minus my thumb which is the same as my middle finger)....

Is that a chip on my ring finger?! GRRR That's what I get for using cheap polish and waiting 24 hours to take pics. Sorry!

Now for an explanation of each finger...
My Twilight tribute....I didn't have an apple in my plates but I did have the Twilight water slide decal. I applied it and sponged around it with black and OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress

My feathers from BM15 ...if you've read Breaking Dawn you know why I included this. :) I am very happy with how my feathers turned out!

My chessboard for the Breaking Dawn cover...I used BM17 and this pattern is actually a tip pattern, not a whole nail pattern. I had to try to line them up, which was hard. I ended up smudging them and they turned out kind of crooked. Not 100% happy with it but I didn't have time to re-do it. They do look better in person than in this pic though.

I am, by far, happiest with this nail. My New Moon flower...I think it turned out really well! I used BM06 and stamped with white, then I took my small dotting tool and went over it in spots with OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress for the flower and China Glaze Glittering Garland for the stem.

One last shot of the complete mani. :)

Colors used in this mani were Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out, Sally Hansen White Tip, OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress and China Glaze Glittering Garland.

What do you think of my Twilight tribute? I wish I had had more time to make them better but it is what it is. :) I'm sure I will be re-creating it at some point. LOL

Haul Post!

Happy Sunday readers!! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I had an awesome day yesterday! I went to see Breaking Dawn (it was AMAZING!) and then did some shopping which included nail polish, of course. LOL With my birthday haul and this haul my stash count is now at 306! WOOHOO!! (is it wrong to be happy about that? LOL) I am considering getting rid of a few of them that I don't care for which would put me back below 300 though...oh well, I'm sure I could catch back up again. LOL

I stopped by Sally's looking for Orly Calcium Builder...fail. They don't carry it at that location. WTH?! But I did get my favorite top coat, Orly Sec 'N Dry....so glad to have that back! I will probably continue to use the Color Club on nail art though because it is nice and thick so it doesn't smear, it just doesn't dry quite as quickly as I like.

After Sally's I went to Ulta...that is a dangerous place for me! LOL I was looking for two specific things, OPI DS Temptation and the butter LONDON holiday duos. No DS Temptation but I did find the BL!! I bought my very first Butter London's!! I am so excited! I picked the set with The Black Knight and Tart With A Heart (the other set is Fairy Lights and Tart With A Heart) and they are both so gorgeous!!! I can't wait to wear them!!

Such cute packaging, right?! I was worried about the bottles falling inside of here but when I went to get them out they were glued on so well I had a hard time getting them out. It actually ended up pulling off my retail stickers on the bottom of the bottles. Grr...missing labels is a pet peeve of mine. LOL Also, I originally thought I might leave them on this little "vanity" for display but it is not sturdy enough so I won't be doing that.

OMG DROOOOOOL!!!!!

I will be back soon with my Twilight-themed mani that I wore yesterday (and am still wearing...I will probably cry when I take it off LOL)

OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It

Hello again lovely readers!! I hope your Friday is going well! Today I have the layering combo I mentioned in my NOX Twilight post yesterday. OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It (GMPWI) from The Muppets Collection is such a gorgeous glitter!! It is red microglitter and small red and silver hex glitter...yes please!

I LOVE this polish but I was a little disappointed in how sheer it was. I don't know if you could ever get it opaque on it's own. I was hoping for more dense glitter like in OPI Crown Me Already. I originally put this over OPI Designer.....de Better! (when I thought it was more opaque) but I wanted a red glitterbomb so I decided to layer it over red.

I apologize in advance for these pictures...my camera has a really hard time with reds and glitter so this combo was very hard for me to photograph/

I used 2 coats of  GMPWI over NOX Twilight Red Velvet and topped it with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Color Club top coat.
