Merry Christmas Eve - My Mom's Christmas Mani

Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate! I just have a quick post to show you the Christmas nail art I did on my mom last night. I haven't done my Christmas mani yet, I'm hoping to do something later tonight though! In the meantime, I thought I'd share this one with you. I think it turned out really fun!

I wanted to make a fun Christmas skittle so I included Santa, Rudolph, a candy cane, a Christmas tree and a wreath! All of the designs were created using acrylic paint.

There were a few details I still needed to add but it was very late so I left them to finish the next day. I still think they turned out pretty cute!

I hope all of you who celebrate have a wonderful Christmas filled with love!

Mom's Birthday Cupcakes!

Saturday was my mom's birthday (Happy Birthday again Mom!) and I had the brilliant idea (or maybe not so brilliant LOL) to attempt nail art and put cupcakes on her nails. I started out doing them on all 10 fingers and didn't like the way they looked. So I took off all but 4 of them and went with it. LOL I loosely followed the tutorial I found HERE. I ended up working on her nails until after 1 in the morning.

Polishes used in this mani

On the "solid fingers":
Julep Carrie and OPI Teenage Dream

On the cupcake fingers:
OPI Rumples Wiggin' for the background
Julep Carrie and OPI Teenage Dream for the frosting
Revlon French Roast for the cake
Barry M Indigo and Avon Aqua Fantasy for the sprinkles
Nubar Fire Sparkle for the cherry

Everything was topped with Seche Vite

This mani is not 100%, I did these Friday night and didn't get pics until today (Monday). For 3 full days of wear I think they look pretty darn good!

What do you think of my cupcakes? I am fairly pleased with them, I think I may be able to master these eventually with some more practice.

Mom's Nails!! A Valentine's Mani

It has been a really long time since I posted Mom's nails on here!! I have been doing them, I just haven't had much of a chance to get pictures of them! I decided to do a Valentine-themed mani on her with OPI DS Reflection. I am really pleased with how these turned out and I love DS Reflection! I used Sally Hansen Insra-Dri Whirlwing White withthe following stamping plates:
BM17 on Index and Ring Fingers
BM02 on Middle Finger
BM03 on Pinky and Thumb

I hope you enjoyed Mom's Valentine's Day-themed mani!

Mom's Christmas Glitter Gradient!

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all doing well today! I did a mani on myself today that I am in love with but my pictures didn't turn out like I  wanted them so I will re-take them in the  morning and post it tomorrow. :) In the meantime I have another Mom Mani. If you saw my China Glaze Twinkle Lights post yesterday you know I was not happy with the coverage of TL and decided it would be better as a layering polish. So, that's what I did with it. LOL

This mani is pretty simple but so gorgeous! I started off with a base of two coats of China Glaze Glittering Garland. This green is amazing! It is deep, rich and sparkly. I think this is a must have color. After that I did a gradient effect (one of my favorites!) using TL. I love how it pops over the dark green!

TL is a very hungry glitter...I used 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Seche Vite and still had to go back over the tips of a couple nails with more Seche Vite.

Please excuse the cut on her finger. :) Had I realized it was there I would have used a bandage on it.

I hope you enjoyed this mani!! I should have a naul art post and a nail mail post for you tomorrow (Friday)!!!

Mom's Nails in Polka Dots!!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I have an uber busy weekend planned so I don't know when I will get to post next. I'm hoping tomorrow but I'm not sure. So I have Mom's latest mani for you tonight. I wanted something fun but simple. I had originally planned to do the dots in Color Club Hot Like Lava from the Foiled Collection but it didn't show up well enough on the base. So I ended up with a base of Ulta Twilight and the dots in Color Club Lumin-Icecent, also from the Foiled Collection.

I LOVE Ulta Twilight. I'll be honest, I bought it mostly for the name. LOL You all know I am a Twi-Hard. But the color is really pretty! It's kind of a cross between grey and taupe. And Lumin-Icecent looks light blue in the bottle but looks silver on the nail.

So, without further ado, here it is! Two coats of Ulta Twilight stamped with CC Lumin-Icecent with BM 19.

I hope you liked this edition of Mom's nails!

Mom's Nails!!!

Hello lovelies!!! How is you Thanksgiving week going so far? Mine has been crazy busy and will continue to be that way. LOL I have a couple Thanksgiving mani ideas in my head so I really hope I have a chance to try them! I am still wearing The Black Knight (with NO chips after all the cleaning and shopping I have been doing WOOT! I'm really impressed with Butter London!) but hope to do something more Thanksgiving-ish tonight.

In the meantime I have a mani I did on my mom a couple weeks ago (she has leaves on right now but I haven't had a chance to take pics). This was my very first stamping that I did on her, I think it turned out really pretty. I used China Glaze 108 Degrees with stamping in China Glaze Cheers to You with BM19.

I hope you enjoyed this mani!! I will hopefully be back tonight or in the morning with something Thanksgiving themed!

Mom's Candy Corn Mani!

Happy Halloween everyone! I have 3 posts that I am planning on doing today but it's been a crazy day and is going to get crazier so please bear with me!

I went back to my favorite nail art technique for this mani....sponging! I love candy corn nails! I had done them on myself earlier in October but it was before I started blogging so I wanted to do them again and show you guys!

For this mani I used Sally Hansen White Tip, Revlon Tangerine and China Glaze Solar Power. For her ring finger I used a waterslide nail decal that features Snoopy sitting on top of a Jack-O-Lantern (I love "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"). All nails were topped off with Orly Sec 'N Dry. I hope you like this mani as much as I do!

There was candy corn harmed (or eaten) during the making of this photo. ;) LOL

I hope you enjoyed this mani!

Sparkly Gradient Halloween Mani!

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad it's almost the weekend! I have a busy one planned...I will try to post every day but I'm not sure I'll have the chance. I have some good manis planned out in my head so I hope I have time!

Today I have another post featuring my mom. As I've said previously, I do her nails as often as I do mine so it only seems right to feature her nails on here occasionally. LOL I wanted to do something fun and sparkly and I was in the mood to sponge. I love sponging, it is one of the few nail art techniques that I can actually pull off. I believe anyone can do this - it just takes a little practice.

As a "bonus" to this post I will add a pic at the bottom of my first ever gradient sponging mani. Please keep in mind this was from awhile ago (way before I started blogging) and my picture-taking skills were non-existent so the picture is very blurry, but it does show that someone who's never done this before can do a good job!

For this mani I started out with a base of Sinful Colors Courtney Orange (I have a love/hate relationship with this polish...I love the shade of orange that it is but is takes several coats to become opaque) and then for the sponging I used Sally Hansen Black Out on the tips with Zoya Faye and Zoya Gabrielle in the middle to soften the line and add sparkle. I topped it off with Seche Vite - not my favorite top coat but it's good to use with nail art since it is so thick.

For this one I used a base of NOX Twilight in Poseidon and did the sponging in China Glaze Dorothy Who? and Zoya Charla. It reminded me of mermaids and ocean waters. :)

I hope you enjoy gradients! You'll probably see a lot more of them from me!

Monday mish-mash...Nail Mail, Mom and Snickerdoodle!!

Happy Monday! Yes, Happy Monday....it's almost over! LOL Today I have a post of randomness. I got some nail mail today (YAY!), my mom is my guest and you get to see pics of my Snickerdoodle (not the cookie lol....my dog).

First up...nail mail! I got Wet n Wild Tangled in My Web from the elusive On The Prowl Collection (I have all the others from this collection that I want but couldn't find this one ANYWHERE) and OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It from The Muppets Collection!

The polish part of my post today will feature my mom's nails. I do her nails as often as I do my own, so it only seems right that I feature her here at least once in a while. LOL For this mani I used Wet n Wild Buy Me A Drink from the On The Prowl Collection topped off with Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor. My Pearl Harbor is pretty old and a little less than half-full...I had to thin it out a lot and even then it took forever to dry but it is so pretty! The last pic is not very good but it was the best one I had that showed the true color of this mani.

Isn't it pretty?!?!

And for the last part of my random post...Snickerdoodle! Today is his birthday! He's 2 today but he still acts like a naughty puppy. LOL He's very sweet though. :) The first pic is when I first got him, he was 2 months old then. The last pic is current. :)

How adorable is he?!?!

I hope you enjoyed today's random post! I have a really amazing polish duo to show you tomorrow! You won't want to miss it!
