Mini 500 Follower Giveaway!!!

I know I said I wouldn't be doing another giveaway until January BUT I reached 500 followers this week and am so excited that I wanted to do a little something to show you all how much I appreciate you!! Some of my friends, and fellow polish addicts, just clued me in on the mini Hard Candy polishes that were out for the holidays. Somehow I had completely missed these. LOL I went looking tonight and found 4 of them, I still want the other 4 but I don't see much hope of finding them now. If anyone has access to the other 4 (red, pink, black and silver) please email me! :-) Anyways, while I was there I picked up an extra set of the 4 they had for you guys! It's not a huge prize but it is sparkly!!

The rules for this giveaway will be a little different since it is a spur of the moment idea. It will be running until January 11th (which is when my monthly giveaways will start) and I do not have an entry form for this one. Instead, there will be one entry opportunity per person and it will be in the form of a comment on this post. I want you to comment with why you enjoy my blog, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, I would just like to know that you follow for a reason other than to enter the giveaways. LOL And this is open to everyone, no matter where you live!!

YOU MUST ENTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE COMMENT YOU LEAVE SO I CAN CONTACT YOU IF YOU ARE THE LUCKY WINNER!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

Green, Blue, Gold, Purple

Thanks so much for following and good luck!!!!

Wonky Penguins!!!

Hello again lovelies!!! As mentioned in my previous post for my base color, NOX Twilight Poseidon, I did some nail art last night and am fairly happy with it. I had a lot going on last night and accidentally used the wrong topcoat and it smeared 2 of my nails. Argh.

Anyways, I had seen two really cute penguin manis lately. One was from my friend Jacki and Adventures in Acetone and the other from my friend Traci at The Trace Face Philes (you can see Jacki's HERE and Traci's HERE). Mine did not turn out as well as theirs but I am pretty happy with them. Some of them look cross-eyed, or drunk LOL, they're kind of wonky but I still love them.

I added a little bit of OPI Crown Me Already over Poseidon to resemble ice and snow and for the penguins I used OPI Black Onyx, OPI Alpine Snow and Revlon Tangerine. I topped it with Nubar Diamont Topcoat, which I love, but is apparently not the greatest for nail art. I meant to use Seche Vite but was distracted. LOL

My thumb...

My pinky....he's the cross-eyed drunk one LOL

And my favorite, he turned out so well! My index finger....

What do you think about my penguins? Be gentle please!!! LOL

NOX Twilight Poseidon

Happy hump day everyone!!! I posted on my Facebook page last night that I was attempting some freehand nail art. We all know that my nail art attempts in the past have not gone very well. LOL I am good at stamping and tape manis but my freehand definitely leaves something to be desired. Anyway, I did attempt it and am fairly pleased with it so I will be showing you that in my next post!

This is the color I used as my base coat, NOX Twilight Poseidon. This is such a pretty blue, it's like tropical ocean water floating on my fingers. The formula with this brand is wonderful, I have 6 of them and want the other 6 in the collection! And of course it helps that they are Twilight-related. LOL I LOVE these bottles!!

This was two very easy coats, topped off with one coat of Nubar Diamont Topcoat.

Isn't Poseidon a perfect light blue?!

NOX Twilight polishes retail for $6.99 and can be purchased at twilightbeauty.com.
You can also visit them on Facebook HERE
Be sure to tell them I sent you! :-)

Nubar 2010!!!

WOW I have tipped the 500 follower mark!!! Thank you all soooo much!!! For those of you who may have missed it, starting in January I will be doing monthly giveaways from the 11th of one month to the 11th of the next month. Also, my 300 follower giveaway ends this Friday, December 30th, so don't forget to enter!

So, to celebrate I have a gorgeous flakie for you today!!!! I have been dying to wear nubar 2010 and decided Illamasqua Viridian would be the perfect color to layer it over!! I was right, they are gorgeous together!  The flakies in 2010 shift from amber to gold to yellow to green...and there may be even more colors in there. LOL

The formula on this is amazing and it is not super chunky like a lot of flakies. I topped it with Nubar Diamont Topcoat only, no Gelous needed, and it is so smooth! And I apologize once again, the color is a little too blue like in my Viridian post.

Look at that green on the edges!!! *dies*

Blurry closeup LOL Hopefully I can get a new camera soon and have better closeups!

I hope you all love 2010 as much as I do because I'll probably be using it over more colors!!!

Illamasqua Viridian!!!

Merry Christmas night everyone!! It's getting late and I have to get up early for work in the morning (yuck) but I wanted to post this beauty for you guys to drool over before bed! This is my first Illamasqua but it will not be my last! The formula on this was AMAZING!! I only needed 2 coats and it went on soooo smooth.

And surprise to me...did anyone else know the square part of the Illamasqua cap lifts off?! I was thinking the cap was a little awkward and then I screwed it back on, when I went to use it again I accidentally figured out the square part comes off to reveal a smaller, round and much easier to use cap. I have included pics of the bottle both ways so you can see. :-)

My pictures make the color a little more blue than in person, in person it is more green than this. This is 2 coats topped off with Nubar Diamont Topcoat.

And now for the SURPRISE!!!

Are you as in love with Viridian as I am? Did you know about the Illamasqua caps?!

Illamasqua retails for $14 and can be purchased at sephora.com or illamasqua.com where they are currently having their winter sale!!!

Sparkly GLITTERBOMB Christmas Gradient!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!!!! I wanted to do some Christmas nail art (or ATTEMPT it LOL), I had all sorts of cute ideas in my head but with all the craziness of the holidays I simply had no time. I still wanted to do something fun and festive though! So I went to my favorite standby, the gradient! I have said it before, and I will probably say it again LOL, but this is one of my favorite nail techniques. It is so simple to do but makes such an impact!!

So for this red and green glitterbomb I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Mistletoe Kisses (from 2010's holiday collection) and then I added butter LONDON Chancer (thanks so much to my friend Rhonni for sending me this!!) to the tips with a makeup sponge. The line created was a little harsh so I went over the line with Mistletoe Kisses to soften it. I topped it off with 1 coat of Gelous and 1 coat of Orly Sec 'N Dry.

I don't mean to toot my own horn but I am in love with this mani!!!  I am in love with anything sparkly though! LOL I have the "turkey disease"....I guess I should explain for those of you who have never heard of this. LOL Turkeys peck at anything sparkly and shiny, so do I. LOL This is why I have the turkey disease! I would bet money that most of you have it too. Hehehe

On to the sparkly pics!!! Break out your sunglasses, this is pretty blingy!!! LOL

What do you think of my Christmas glitterbomb? What do you have on your nails for the holidays? I'd love to see!! Upload a pic to my Facebook page, I'd love to share it with my Facebook friends!!

Also, don't forget my 300 follower giveaway ends in one week!!! If you haven't entered you can do that HERE. :-)
