Dandy Nails Colorblind

I am so excited for the post I have for you today! Have you heard about the new indie brand called Dandy Nails? The creator, Sandy, is super sweet and uber talented!! I will put all of the links at the bottom of this post!

I decided to swatch Colorblind over 4 different colors so you could see different looks. Colorblind is NOT  a hungry glitter, all of these pics are without topcoat and are nearly smooth. A regular top coat would make it smooth as glass. This is one coat of Colorblind.

Over NOX Twilight Poseidon

Over Zoya Sooki (I will have a post up on Sooki soon)

Don't you just love Colorblind?! You can purchase Dandy Nails at her Etsy shop HERE. Make sure to follow her blog dandy-nails.com and her Facebook page!

Neon Zebras!!!!

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Mine has been busy so far. I wanted to get this posted earlier but didn't have time.

I was inspired by the bright color in my last post on Misa Let's Go Green and wanted to do something bright and fun. I have always like the combo of lime green and hot pink so I ran with that. I started off by sponging my tips with NOX Twilight Crush (my favorite hot pink). I then added zebra stripes with OPI Black Onyx and stamping plate BM16. I am really happy with how this turned out and I received several compliments on it today!

Excuse the dog hair. That's what I get for having a little fluff ball. LOL

Do you like my neon zebra mani or is it too out there??

Lacquistry Aqua Shredded!!!!

Hello again!!! I am so excited for this post! This is my very first Lacquistry polish and I am very impressed!! Aqua Shredded is like glitter but not. LOL It's more like "shards". I love this shredded concept, it's new to me and I now need more of them!! The application was PERFECT, very smooth and even. I put this over NOX Twilight Crush and I think this combo is amazing. I have a few other colors in mind I want to try this over as well. I topped this off with one coat of Seche Vite, it was pretty smooth but next time I will use Gelous before my top coat.

Make sure you stay till the end because I added a little bonus. :-)

I decided I wanted to see this matte and added Hard Candy's Matte-ly in Love. It is awesome!! However, as mentioned in my last post I am having camera issues so the matte pics were taken with my phone and are somewhat grainy. I apologize for this.

Lacquistry polishes can be purchased from their creator, Jenna, at her Etsy shop which you can find HERE. They retail for a very reasonable $7.50.

Also, make sure to like Lacquistry on Facebook and make sure to tell her I sent you!!

NOX Twilight Crush

Hello all my lovelies!!!! I am so excited about the TWO posts I have for you tonight!!! This is an AMAZING color and will serve as my basecoat for my next post and it is quite the AMAZING combo!!!

I have posted on this brand before, NOX Twilight, and as I have said before, it is an awesome brand!Even if you are not a Twilight fan these polishes are definitely worth having. They have amazing formulas and opacity. This was nearly a one-coater.

I apologize for the quality of the pics. I am having issues with my camera so I had to use my phone and the pics are grainy. :-( Also, I used a BRAND NEW BOTTLE of Seche Vite and it left black specks on my pinky. I have no idea why it did this. Argh. Anyways, on to the amazing HOT PINK!!!

Again, I apologize for the pics, they are not very good quality. :-( But the color is so amazing!!!

You can purchase NOX Twilight polishes at twilightbeauty.com for $6.99 each.

Wonky Penguins!!!

Hello again lovelies!!! As mentioned in my previous post for my base color, NOX Twilight Poseidon, I did some nail art last night and am fairly happy with it. I had a lot going on last night and accidentally used the wrong topcoat and it smeared 2 of my nails. Argh.

Anyways, I had seen two really cute penguin manis lately. One was from my friend Jacki and Adventures in Acetone and the other from my friend Traci at The Trace Face Philes (you can see Jacki's HERE and Traci's HERE). Mine did not turn out as well as theirs but I am pretty happy with them. Some of them look cross-eyed, or drunk LOL, they're kind of wonky but I still love them.

I added a little bit of OPI Crown Me Already over Poseidon to resemble ice and snow and for the penguins I used OPI Black Onyx, OPI Alpine Snow and Revlon Tangerine. I topped it with Nubar Diamont Topcoat, which I love, but is apparently not the greatest for nail art. I meant to use Seche Vite but was distracted. LOL

My thumb...

My pinky....he's the cross-eyed drunk one LOL

And my favorite, he turned out so well! My index finger....

What do you think about my penguins? Be gentle please!!! LOL

NOX Twilight Poseidon

Happy hump day everyone!!! I posted on my Facebook page last night that I was attempting some freehand nail art. We all know that my nail art attempts in the past have not gone very well. LOL I am good at stamping and tape manis but my freehand definitely leaves something to be desired. Anyway, I did attempt it and am fairly pleased with it so I will be showing you that in my next post!

This is the color I used as my base coat, NOX Twilight Poseidon. This is such a pretty blue, it's like tropical ocean water floating on my fingers. The formula with this brand is wonderful, I have 6 of them and want the other 6 in the collection! And of course it helps that they are Twilight-related. LOL I LOVE these bottles!!

This was two very easy coats, topped off with one coat of Nubar Diamont Topcoat.

Isn't Poseidon a perfect light blue?!

NOX Twilight polishes retail for $6.99 and can be purchased at twilightbeauty.com.

Be sure to tell them I sent you! :-)

NOX Twilight Red Velvet

Hello lovelies!!! I'm sorry it's been so long since I have had a new post, I have been working a lot! For those of you that saw my birthday mani last Friday (if you missed it you can see it HERE) I promised a post for the base coat I used and hadn't had a chance yet. With Breaking Dawn being released at midnight tonight (YAY!!!!) I thought this would be the perfect day to show you since it is a Twilight polish. :) Unfortunately I will not be seeing it until Saturday (AHH!!!) so I will be having a Breaking Dawn-themed mani but I won't be doing it until tomorrow (Friday) night. Wow....that was a lot of rambling. LOL

This polish is my favorite red creme....it's actually not a straight creme. It's a mix between a creme and a jelly...a crelly? LOL It is super duper shiny like a jelly but a little more opaque. I used 2 coats for the pics but for full opacity I usually use 3. I have a layering combo I will add to this tonight so I wasn't worried too much about VNL.

I love this brand of polish...besides the bottles being so cute with the Cullen Crests on them, the formula is really nice.  This color was so hard to capture with my camera....the hardest I've had. I still couldn't get it perfect....it is a little deeper and much richer in person.

Aren't these bottles the best?! I can't wait for Breaking Dawn!! How about you?! There are 12 polishes in this collection, I have half of them and can't wait to buy the rest! If you are interested in these you can purchase them at twilightbeauty.com for $6.99 each or the complete collection for $70. They also have other make-up items as well and they have excellent customer service!

My Birthday Mani and My First Stamping Experience!!

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I want to say Happy Veteran's Day to all of you and thank any of you that have ever served our country, or had a family member who served.

For today's mani I wanted something special, in addition to it being my birthday, it is also my one-month blog anniversary! Thank you all for following along in my nail adventures! I never dreamed I would 165 followers in a month, so thank you all so much. It really means a lot to me.

I've had an idea in my mind for weeks that I knew I wanted to try but didn't know how to pull it off. I didn't have stamping plates and we all know I fail at freehand. Well, surprise - when I received my plates yesterday there was an image that was pretty much exactly what I had pictured! Not exact but close enough. The base color I really wanted to use for this was too dark, the black didn't show up. But, I have another idea for it that I may try tonight so I'm not going to tell you what the color is. ;)

So for this design I started out with a base of NOX Twilight Red Velvet (I would normally do a post on this color on its own first but I was so excited to get the design up that I decided I would post the swatches of Red Velvet later). This is my favorite red creme, it's kind of somewhere in between a creme and a jelly....is that a crelly? LOL Anyway, it is SUPER SHINY like a jelly but a little more opaque. I used 2 coats since I knew I was stamping over it but when I wear it alone I usually wear 3 coats so there is no VNL.  I then used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out, Ozotic 531 and Ozotic 532.

I love roses, they are my favorite flower. I have a bouquet of fake roses in my bedroom that are black and dark burgundy with silver and holographic glitter on the tips. I wanted to recreate this look on my nails. Like I said before, my base was too dark and that's why I changed to the bright red. I then stamped with Bundle Monster plate #BM14 with Black Out all over each nail. I was trying to make it look like you were looking at a bundle of roses from the top. After that I used my small dotting tool and went around various petals with the two Ozotic polishes. It's not perfect but I am very happy with it. I think it is pretty darn good for my first try at stamping. I used Color Club top coat to finish it off.

NOX Twilight Red Velvet, Sally Hansen Black Out, Ozotic 531, Ozotic 532, Color Club Top Coat

I hope you all enjoyed this mani!

The NOX Twilight polishes with the amazing Cullen Crests can be purchased at Twilight Beauty. They have 12 polishes, I have 6 and want the other 6! Besides having the lovely bottles the colors are very pretty and excellent quality. I will review Red Velvet on its own later today or sometime over the weekend.

Have a fabulous day!
