31 Day Challenge: Day 11 - Red and Black Polka Dots

Thrice is nice, yes? Well I hope so! I am back for the third time today with another nail art look for the 31 Day Challenge! The prompt for this mani is polka dots. Sounds easy enough. Except I will tell you a little secret - even after all these years I still suck at polka dots! Give me a brush any day over a dotting tool. But, I did enjoy doing this mani!

I used the gorgeous Alter Ego Well Read (review coming soon) with simple black dots. I love red and black together!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing!

31 Day Challenge: Day 7 - Black and White Dotted Chevrons

Happy Friday! I finally have my look for Day 7 in the 31 Day Challenge! I am hoping to play catch-up this weekend so I can get back on schedule! For today's black and white look I went with a bold chevron design!

31 Day Challenge: Day 6 - Violet Stripes and Dots

Hello! I've fallen behind on the 31 Day Challenge - but better late than never, right? So I am trying to play catch-up and have Day 6 to show you tonight! I took inspiration for this mani from Sheila at Pointless Cafe and I love how it turned out!

31 Day Challenge: Day 2 - Orange Moroccan Half Moons

Happy Friday, everyone! Today felt more like a Monday than a Friday, which makes me even more thankful for the 3-day weekend. Today's nail art isn't one that I am very happy with. I don't know what was up, but I attempted 4 or 5 different looks for today's prompt and I just couldn't create anything I was happy with. I'm not in love with this one, but it's growing on me!

HPB Presents: Dusty - Chevrons and Dots

Press Sample

Hello and Happy Friday, everyone! I am joining in a fun nail art theme with a group of fellow bloggers on Facebook - Hobby Polish Bloggers. I have good intentions of joining in the fun every month but, well, I'm a bad planner. But I made it this month and I'm glad! This month's theme is "dusty" and I happen to love dusty colors. I also have a collection that I recently received to review from Glisten and Glow that is perfect for this challenge. I will have full swatches and my review for you soon, but for now I am going to show you how well they work together!

The Digit-al Dozen Does New and Improved: Day 1 - Dotted Heart

Hello and welcome to a brand new Digit-al Dozen Week! The theme this month is "new and improved" - so many possibilities with this theme! New techniques we've never tried before, improving on things we may not be the best at or even re-creating old manis that we want to improve! Today I chose to try a type of nail art I've never done before. I've seen "dotted image" nail art before but when I saw this mani from fellow Digit-al Dozen-er Lindsey from Wondrously Polished I knew I wanted to attempt some this week.

As with most things I decide to attempt, it was SO much harder than I anticipated! I expected it to be hard, but sheesh! LOL! This was the final result after removing it and re-doing it about 12 times. Let's see how I did!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Re-Creations: Day 1 - Floral Lace Half Moons

Today starts another Digit-al Dozen Week and I'm super excited about this one! This month is the 3rd anniversary of the Digit-al Dozen, so to celebrate we are re-creating Digit-al Dozen manis from the past. It's been so overwhelming to try to decide on only 5 manis to do with so much talent and so many gorgeous nail art looks to choose from! Today I decided to re-create a manicure that I have wanted to try since I first saw it posted. This one is Floral Lace Half Moons from Jacki at Adventures in Acetone.

Polka Dots in the Breeze

Nothing to Disclose

I think I am learning something about myself in this challenge - I can get things done really quickly when I am under pressure! LOL Today beat the crap out of me for a lot of different reasons and I didn't even get to start on my manicure for today until about 8:30 or 9 PM my time. It is 10:45 as I type this right now, so at least it is still technically Day 11 of the challenge!

I awoke with a heavy heart this morning, as I am sure many of you did. The tragedy that took place on September 11th 13 years ago was very much on my mind and in my heart. I thought it would be nice to do a small tribute on my nails today. Today's prompt was "polka dots." I decided to use patriotic colors and attempt to make the dots look like they were blowing in the breeze, just like our flag did that day, even after all the suffering our country had endured.

Post continued after the jump.

Sation Unicorns Are Teal and I'm So Ogre It - Swatches, Review and Nail Art! ♥

Good day everyone! I have a new-to-me brand to show you today (as well as a few others from this brand to show you throughout the rest of the week)!

Sation Nail Lacquer is 3-Free and Cruelty Free and I am very impressed with them so far! The brush is flat and easy to work with and the polish applied very smoothly.  I decided to do a little nail art with them so let's look at that first.

I used Unicorns Are Teal and I'm So Ogre It to create this nail look. I wanted something different and fun so I combined several different looks. I love how it turned out! (Any bubbles in the photo are from my topcoat, not the polish itself.)

Sation Nail Art

----------------------------------------------

Unicorns Are Teal is a bright teal creme. My camera had a lot of trouble capturing the true color of this one. It is slightly more green than it appears in my photos. Very fun and great for Spring and Summer. I used 2 coats of this one on all nails except my pinkie, where I used 3. You can see there is slight VNL on the other fingers but went away completely on my pinkie. This bottle of polish did have a few stray "dark spots" where it seemed the pigment hadn't been completely mixed. I did not have this in any of the other bottles I received so I assume it was just a fluke. No topcoat for the photos.

I'm So Ogre It (how cute is that name?!) is a medium grey creme. No problems with application but I did use 3 coats of this one for complete opacity. No topcoat for the photos.

What do you think of these? I really like them! They are so shiny on their own! I can't wait to show you the others this week!

Sation polishes are available at select TJ Maxx, Marshallls & Winners (Canada) stores, as well as online at http://store.misspn.com/. They retail for $5 online.

I will be back tonight with a new weekly blog feature that I am excited to show you guys!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

31 Day Challenge Day Seven - Black & White

Hello lovelies! The 31 Day Challenge resumes with black and white nails! I am really excited about the "nail art" I have to show you today.

Black and White Manicure

For this mani I started out applying my black and white in the checkerboard pattern (I have done this design before - you can see it here). After that dried I decided I wanted to jazz it up a little bit so I added dots in Orly Decoded and Milani Rapid Cherry using dotting tools.

What do you think of this mani? It's not perfect, but I really like it!
