Milani Limited Edition Fall Textured Creams Collection - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I have a brand new, limited edition collection for Fall 2013 - the Milani Fall Textured Creams Collection.

This collection is made up of 6 textured polishes in colors that are just perfect for fall. All had the same great formula. I used 2 coats of each for full opacity (though many were nearly one-coaters), making sure the first coat was dry before adding the second.

Milani Fantastical Plumage Collection - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Hello! A couple of days ago I showed you the Milani Retro Glam Collection and tonight I have their other new collection, the Fantastical Plumage Collection. This one is so bright and fun, perfect for summer!

This collection consists of 5 cremes and one black and white glitter topper. All of the cremes have great formulas! I was very impressed with all of them. I used 2 coats of all of the cremes except for Canary, I needed 3 coats for full opacity with that one. Blue Jay and Scarlet Ibis could be one-coaters. Carnival is the glitter topper. The glitter pieces in it are much larger than Sprinkles from the Retro Glam Collection. I did have to do some dabbing and placing the glitters but that's to be expected with these types of glitters.

Milani Texture Collection - Swatches and Review ♥

Good morning and happy hump day! I have a very bright and colorful post for you today that is sure to brighten your morning!

The Milani Texture Collection consists of 6 fun shades for Spring and Summer in the oh-so-popular textured finish. All 6 had the same great formula. I used 2 coats for opacity on all of them. You DO need to make sure that the first coat is completely dry before moving on to the second coat. Also, let the second coat dry before you think that you screwed it up. LOL! After you apply the second coat it looks "lumpy" (not in a good way) BUT after it dries completely it looks textured as it does in my photos.
*Note: In the photos for Aqua Splash and Yellow Mark you can see that part of my middle nail wasn't completely dry and can see the difference in texture that I am referring to.

One more thing before we get started - these are meant to be textured finish and do feel textured to the touch. These do not do well if you add topcoat. I have included a photo of Purple Streak with topcoat so you can see the result of adding topcoat.

------------------------------

Purple Streak - a bold warm purple. My camera wanted to make this one more blue-toned than it actually is; the first photo is color-accurate.

And here is what they look like with topcoat...

Aqua Splash - a bright and fun aqua.

Shady Gray - I love this one, it reminds me of stone. And Weeping Angels. Don't Blink. Sorry, I've been having a Doctor Who marathon the last few days. ;)

Yellow Mark - a bright and bold yellow.

Spoiled in Fuchsia - one of my favorites from the collection. A bright and fun fuchsia.

What do you think of this collection? Do you like the textured finish? My favorites from this collect are Spoiled in Fuchsia, Shady Gray and Purple Streak but I really did like them all. I don't know that I am completely sold on the textured finish but that's just because I have texture issues in general.

Milani puts out such great polishes, keeps them at a reasonable price and is one of the few drugstore brands that remains Cruelty-Free - all of that keeps them at the top of my list of favorite brands!

Milani polishes retail for around $4.49 per bottle and are available at Milani's website and various drugstores across the US. Make sure to follow them on Facebook for all the latest news and collections!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

Milani: High Speed Fast Dry Collection (New for 2013) ♥

Good morning everyone! Today I have the 6 new additions to the Milani High Speed Fast Dry Collection.

This collection is made up of mostly cremes and all but one of them has fantastic formulas! Unless otherwise noted I have used 2 coats and no topcoat for the photos.

-----------------------------------------

Flaming Race is a bright orange/pink shade (though I wouldn't call it coral, it's more red-leaning than that in my opinion). Fabulous formula.

Instant Pearl is the only one out of the collection that has a bad formula. This one is incredibly streaky and was hard to get complete coverage. I have used 3 coats for the photos and you can see cuticle drag on my index and middle fingers (though that could be my fault for not waiting long enough between coats). I also had some issues with bubbling on my ring finger. This color just screams eighties and as much as I love Milani, I have no idea what they were thinking when they released this particular color. LOL!

Move on Mauve is the other shimmer in this collection but it is MUCH better than Instant Pearl. This is a lovely mauve with shimmer and had a fantastic formula.

Pink Express is a light pink creme and I love it! Surprisingly enough out of all of my polish, I don't have another color like this one. Also a fantastic formula.

Quick Teal is a teal creme, also with a fabulous formula. (This one was nearly a one-coater but I did use two.)

Rapid Orchid is a purple so deep that it only reads black on my pale skin. I am assuming Milani was referring to a Black Orchid when they came up with this name; in that case the color is spot on. Also a fab formula on this one.

So what so you think of this collection? I love them all except for the one dud in Instant Pearl. Milani puts out such great polishes, keeps them at a reasonable price and is one of the few drugstore brands that remains Cruelty-Free - all of that keeps them at the top of my list of favorite brands!
