31 Day Challenge: Day 2 - Orange Moroccan Half Moons

Happy Friday, everyone! Today felt more like a Monday than a Friday, which makes me even more thankful for the 3-day weekend. Today's nail art isn't one that I am very happy with. I don't know what was up, but I attempted 4 or 5 different looks for today's prompt and I just couldn't create anything I was happy with. I'm not in love with this one, but it's growing on me!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Re-Creations: Day 1 - Floral Lace Half Moons

Today starts another Digit-al Dozen Week and I'm super excited about this one! This month is the 3rd anniversary of the Digit-al Dozen, so to celebrate we are re-creating Digit-al Dozen manis from the past. It's been so overwhelming to try to decide on only 5 manis to do with so much talent and so many gorgeous nail art looks to choose from! Today I decided to re-create a manicure that I have wanted to try since I first saw it posted. This one is Floral Lace Half Moons from Jacki at Adventures in Acetone.

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge: Something You've Never Done Before (A Few Days Late!)

Good evening! Who else is thrilled that another Monday is over with? I know I'm not the only one! (I would really hate to be Monday though. How sad must Monday be? No wonder it hates us back!) Anyway, I have a post for you today that I should have posted Friday, but the last few days have been crazy so here it is.

The final prompt in the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge is "something you've never done before." Well, I had never done a negative space mani before because I'm not a huge fan of them. I like a few that I have seen but mostly they aren't my thing. Plus my nails are pretty stained so the only space I felt comfortable "exposing" my nails was at the base. I'm also not typically a fan of half moon manis on myself (though I do love them on other people), but I figured I'd give them another shot.

I apologize for the quality of the photo (phone pic). I didn't intend on leaving them like this and just snapped this pic quickly to show a friend. I freehanded the half moons and I am pretty proud of how those turned out! I did attempt to add some art on top but it just didn't turn out well so I decided to stick with these instead. Sometimes clean and simple is the best! And I actually enjoyed wearing these. Half moons and negative space - I sure didn't expect to like it but I ended up wearing them all weekend. The red I used is SinfulSHINE Devious.

I hope you enjoyed this nail art challenge, even if I did post late for most of it! LOL

Thanks for reading and happy polishing!

Cozy Sweater

Nothing to Disclose

Good evening! Today's prompt in the 31 Day Challenge is "half moons." I love half moon manis on other people but I've never been very fond of them on myself. They just don't look right on me for some reason. But I decided I was going to try something I've never tried before and really push myself - freehanding the half moons. And then I decided to take it even further and make the curved stripes extend all the way down my nail. It ended up reminding me of a cozy sweater! Not that I get to wear those here, in Arizona, but a girl can dream!

I started off with a base of Elevation Polish Cerro Torre 2 (nude) and then worked from the base to the tip with my striping brush. I am quite pleased with how this turned out for my first attempt at so many curved lines! I am not usually the best at working freekand and creating curves and circles. Maybe I just need more practice!

Polishes I used in this mani are (from base to tip):

Elevation Polish The Arches (rust)
Elevation Polish Cerro Torre 2 (nude)
Zoya Louise (brown)
Zoya Dree (green)
Pahlish The Wish of a Golden Fish (orange holo)
Zoya Ryan (blue)

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

31 Day Challenge Day 18 - Half Moons!

Good evening everyone! I hope you had a great Monday (or as great as any Monday can be).

For my half moon mani I wanted to do something that would really pop so I decided on a creme and a metallic. I chose Nails Inc. St. Pancras and Sinful Colors Dancing Nails and I LOVE how they look together!

I ended up free-handing my moons because the "stickers" I was using were not sticking very well and were just making a mess. For my free-hand (and only using the bottle brush) I am pretty proud of how these turned out!

(I do want to apologize for the varied nail lengths in my recent posts. I have recently cut them but had some posts swatched from before I cut them - it bothers me to post them like that but it couldn't be helped.)
