Autumn Theme Week Day 2 - Autumn Flowers ♥

Nothing to Disclose

Autumn Week continues with an Autumn Flowers Theme! I did a skittelette featuring and flower on 2 of my fingers. I honestly don't know if there is a flower that looks like this (since I live in the desert and we don't really have "Autumn"), my guess is no since I couldn't find any when googling. But I found several that are close enough!

NOTD: Nails Inc. Piccadilly Circus ♥

Happy Saturday! I have a quick NOTD post for you tonight!

Nails Inc. Piccadilly Circus is a gorgeous deep berry shade that is so yummy you can almost taste it. Application was perfect (as I have found with all Nails Inc. cremes) and I used 2 coats and no top coat for the photos.

Light It Up Blue for Autism Speaks - Blogger Collaboration Manis ♥

Hello everyone! Today, April 2nd, is World Autism Awareness Day.

For World Autism Awareness Day - Light It Up Blue/Autism Speaks some of my blogger friends and I decided to do blue manis to show our support. Click for more information on Light It Up Blue. (You can also see my post from last year here.)

The "logos" for this cause are puzzle piece(s) and a lightbulb. I attempted puzzle pieces last year so I decided to try a lightbulb this year - and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Light It Up Blue Mani

I used Nails Inc. Baker Street as my base. The light bulb was done with Milani White on the Spot and A England Dorian Gray. I also used a tiny bit of Glitter Gal Lemon Fizz around the edges to create a "glowing" effect. It didn't translate so well in the photos though.

Just for fun I decided to add some glow in the dark polish (Ninja Polish Candy Corn) to the light bulb. If I had been thinking I would have used Howling Blue Moon to make it glow blue. There's always next time. ;)

Indigo Bananas: Klein Trink Wasser ♥

I have a polish from a new-to-me indie brand to show you today! You may have seen the brand Indigo Bananas popping up on blogs recently - she seems to be hitting the scene with a bang, and I can completely understand why! I have 3 of her polishes to show you in the next few days and the first one is amazing!

Indigo Bananas - Hermes, Klein Trink Wasser, Low-key

Today I have Klein Trink Wasser to show you. Klein (as shortened by the maker) is an extremely vibrant, in-your-face blue and I love it! The formula was very easy to work with. I used 3 coats (as the maker states you will need) and it dries to a satin finish (think Illamasqua's rubber finish) that I quite enjoyed. Add top coat and it deepens the color even more. I really love this one and it is more vibrant than Nails Inc. Baker Street (I have a comparison photo at the end of this post).

This is what the maker had to say about Klein -

Base color: blue, indigo in certain lights (klein blue)
Effects: ---
Finish: creme
Roughness: smooth
# coats: three solo
Top Coat: optional, but recommended
Size: 15ml
Vegan & cruelty free: yes
3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free): yes

First up, 3 coats with NO top coat...

And with one coat of Poshe...

And a comparison with Nails Inc. Baker Street (see photo for labels)...

Indigo Bananas - Klein Trink Wasser vs. Nails Inc. Baker Street

What do you think of this one? I love it and I love the fact that I can wear it satin or shiny! Definitely one of my favorite blues out of my whole collection.

Indigo Bananas can be found on their website here. Also, make sure to "like" their Facebook page to stay up-to-date on news and announcements! Full-sized bottles retail for $10 and minis for $4.50 and can be purchased at their Etsy shop here

Ninja Polish: He Went to Jarred over Gradient ♥

Good evening! I have a gorgeous mani for you tonight!

I started off with a gradient of Illamasqua Jo'mina and Nails Inc. Piccadilly Circus (will have photos of both of these on their own soon) and I love they way they look together! Then I decided to make it EVEN BETTER by adding Ninja Polish He Went to Jarred which is a 12K white gold top coat!

I love He Went to Jarred (how awesome is that name?!) - the formula was wonderful and I didn't have to place the flakes at all. I only used one coat and only needed one coat of top coat.

And here is a quick pic of the gradient before adding He Went to Jarred...

He Went to Jarred is part of the Gold Wasser Collection from Ninja Polish. The other half of the collection, The Midas Touch, is an 18K yellow gold flake top coat. (I really can't wait to get that one now!) He Went to Jarred is currently out of stock but you can sign up for email notifications for when it is available again at this link. Make sure to follow Ninja Polish on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on re-stock info and sales!

Edgy Valentine's Nails ♥

Happy Valentine's Eve everyone! I set out last night to create an Anti-Valentine's Day mani and tried several different things and nothing turned out right. The final product isn't anything like what I had pictured in my head - and it's certainly not Anti-Valentine's Day but it is edgy Valentine's Day.

I wasn't so sure I liked this mani as a whole (random patterns are not my forté - my brain just doesn't work that way LOL) but when I showed my bestie she called it "sultry" - I figured I couldn't go wrong with something that anyone called sultry. ;)

I used SoFlaJo Black Dagger, Ninja Polish His Nose So Bright and Nails Inc Gatwick (red matte).

Merry Christmas with Chanel Malice and a Little Nail Art!

Merry Christmas readers! I know Christmas is over for many of you by now but this is the first chance I have had to show you what I wore on my nails today.

I received Chanel Malice in the mail yesterday (Christmas Eve) and I couldn't wait to put it on my nails! I had an idea in my head for nail art with completely different colors before I received Malice, so when I decided to wear Malice I had to think of something else. I fell in love with Sheila from Pointless Cafe's Christmas Plaid and Holly mani that she posted on Christmas Eve (link to the post here) and was inspired to try to replicate it. First, lets see the original.

Christmas Plaid and Holly Manicure from Pointless Cafe

I only did accent nails with this design since I was wearing Malice. (As a side note, my photos of Malice do not do this polish justice. I have a LOT of dark reds and none of them are like this. I don't even care for dark red polishes too much anymore but this one is definitely an exception.) My nail art didn't turn out as nice as Sheila's but I really enjoyed wearing this mani today!

NOTD: Nails Inc. Baker Street

I have a quickie for you tonight - but it's a gorgeous quickie!

Nails Inc. Baker Street is a gorgeous royal blue creme that went on like buttah! Nails Inc. cremes are simply some of the best cremes out there - I have yet to find one that doesn't have a fantastic formula and finish. This is 2 coats and no top coat.

I also have to add that this is my first Nails Inc. with the blingy cap and I love it! Who doesn't like a little added bling?!

Fall Into Fashion - Day 1 of a Halloween Nail Art Challenge!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I am sure you have all seen the mega-awesome Halloween nail art  challenge on many blogs. I love seeing what they are all coming up with and I considered joining in myself. But after the 31 Day Challenge I didn't really feel like I had another long challenge in me. Plus I am going to be starting back to school in a couple of weeks so I didn't want to commit to a challenge since I am unsure if I will have the proper time to commit to it. Anyway, one of my friends, Danielle over at Polish, Glitter, Rock & Roll, came up with a nice, short Halloween nail art challenge so I decided to join in on that one!

I chopped off my nails last night. Like, really chopped off. I had 3 bad breaks on my right hand and couldn't stand my hands being different lengths. I do have some swatches saved from before I cut them so my nail length will be going back and forth in my posts. This drives me nuts but I don't have a choice right now. LOL Hopefully they grow quickly!

I wasn't sure what to do for today in the challenge so I went with the "Fall" aspect more than the fashion one. I used Zoya Monica as my base and stamped leaves using Nails Inc. Old Bond St and Bundle Monster BM04.

Momma Needs A New Pair Of Shoes! Casino Mani!!

I have a fun mani for you tonight!! Who doesn't love a fun night out on the town?! If you do this mani is the perfect to go with it! I can totally see wearing this mani for a night out on the town playing games at the casino.

As usual, my nail art needs improving BUT it is better than it used to be!

Casino Manicure

What do you think? I thought the poker chips and card would be fun to attempt, and they were!

Zoya Veruschka is the green and Nails Inc. Gatwick Matte is the red.

Nails Inc. Old Park Lane - Swatches and Review

I have a quickie for you tonight. I have been doing a lot of glitter posts and my 31 DC posts but that hasn't left time for much else. I actually have other pics just waiting to be posted. LOL So I thought I would share one with you tonight.

Nails Inc. Old Park Lane is a metallic taupe with perfect formula (as I have come to expect from Nails. Inc.). This is two easy coats and no top coat. (This also happens to be the base of an upcoming Shimmer post. *wink*)

What do you think of this one? Metallics aren't my favorite finish but I do really enjoy this one.

Nails Inc. polishes are available in select colors in the US at Sephora.com and some Sephora locations. They are available for purchase in the UK at nailsinc.com but they do not ship internationally at this time.

31 Day Challenge Day 22 - Inspired By A Song

Happy Friday everyone! I was stumped on this part of the challenge for a while. I kept trying to think of a way to turn my favorite songs into some form of nail art. I never could figure out how to do that so I went a different route and chose a song that had a very visual title - Purple Rain.

I used Nails Inc. Westminster (one of my favorite purple cremes) as my base and Layla Hologram Effect Ultra Violet for the "raindrops." I tried to make the drops smaller at the top and larger at the tip to give the illusion of rainfall - my middle finger is the best executed. LOL

31 Day Challenge Day 21 - Inspired By A Color

Happy evening everyone! I must admit that some of the challenge themes in the last third of this challenge intimidate me a little but I was super excited for today's theme.

I absolutely LOVE Fall and all of the colors of Fall but I live in Arizona and am surrounded by desert landscaping so I don't get to see the gorgeous colors in person very often. It's still reaching triple digits here so I wanted to bring a little Fall to my life and my readers' lives.

My Inspiration

Inspired By A Color

I used the "Saran Wrap" technique (again LOL) for this mani and used the following colors - OPI Chopsticking To My Story (my base), Milani Rapid Cherry, Nails Inc. Fenchurch Street, Nails Inc. Hampstead Gardens, Nails Inc. Old Bond St., OPI Hungary For My Honey and Revlon Espresso. (The OPI polishes were purchased before I went Cruelty-Free and were already in my collection.)
