Indigo Bananas: Klein Trink Wasser ♥

I have a polish from a new-to-me indie brand to show you today! You may have seen the brand Indigo Bananas popping up on blogs recently - she seems to be hitting the scene with a bang, and I can completely understand why! I have 3 of her polishes to show you in the next few days and the first one is amazing!

Indigo Bananas - Hermes, Klein Trink Wasser, Low-key

Today I have Klein Trink Wasser to show you. Klein (as shortened by the maker) is an extremely vibrant, in-your-face blue and I love it! The formula was very easy to work with. I used 3 coats (as the maker states you will need) and it dries to a satin finish (think Illamasqua's rubber finish) that I quite enjoyed. Add top coat and it deepens the color even more. I really love this one and it is more vibrant than Nails Inc. Baker Street (I have a comparison photo at the end of this post).

This is what the maker had to say about Klein -

Base color: blue, indigo in certain lights (klein blue)
Effects: ---
Finish: creme
Roughness: smooth
# coats: three solo
Top Coat: optional, but recommended
Size: 15ml
Vegan & cruelty free: yes
3-Free (formaldehyde, toluene, DBP free): yes

First up, 3 coats with NO top coat...

And with one coat of Poshe...

And a comparison with Nails Inc. Baker Street (see photo for labels)...

What do you think of this one? I love it and I love the fact that I can wear it satin or shiny! Definitely one of my favorite blues out of my whole collection.

Indigo Bananas can be found on their website here. Also, make sure to "like" their Facebook page to stay up-to-date on news and announcements! Full-sized bottles retail for $10 and minis for $4.50 and can be purchased at their Etsy shop here

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

The Ultimate Black and White Glitter Guide

I usually don't create blog posts just to share someone else's blog post (I usually share them on Facebook and Twitter) but this one is so informative that I thought everyone should see it.

My friend Sarah at Chalkboard Nails has an obsession with black and white glitter and has created a comparison post with 20 of them! Click here to be taken directly to her post.

As a teaser here is one of the photos from her post:

Butter London Knackered Dupe???

Hello again!!! I mentioned in my post on Butter London Knackered earlier today that I thought I might be able to layer two of my current polishes and create a dupe. Well, I am happy to announce that it is NOT a dupe!!! I am totally justified in owning both. :-)

The two polishes I had in mind were OPI Not Like The Movies and China Glaze Fairy Dust. In the first pic you can see 3 coats of NLTM on its own (it is more opaque than Knackered) and you can clearly see that they are not dupes. I also swatched 2 fingers over Zoya Savita, you can see that at the end of the post.

4 coats Butter London Knackered on the left, 3 coats of OPI NLTM with 1 coat ChG Fairy Dust on the right

For the pics below I put 2 coats of NLTM and 1 coat of Fairy Dust on my index and ring fingers, BL Knackered on my middle finger and pinky. All are over 2 coats of Savita.

Well there you have it. I didn't bother swatching it over black since they weren't as close as I thought. Does it make you happy or sad that I didn't find a dupe?

LIGHT PURPLE HOLO COMPARISON!!!!

Hello again!! As promised I have the answer to my teaser pic I posted on my Facebook page last night. In case you missed it here is the pic.

One of these is Ludurana Supremo, can you tell which one? Can you guess what the other polish is?

I was going to torment you with a lot of babble but I'm tired so I'll just get with it. LOL The other polish is OPI DS Original. The ULTIMATE PURPLE HOLO. In the pic above Supremo is on the left and Original is on the right. Let's have more pics, shall we....

Bottle shot, as you can see Original is much warmer while Supremo leans to the cool, bluer side.

Original on my index and ring fingers, Supremo on my middle and pinky.

 GRRR I SEE A SMUDGE.

I hope this post was helpful to you!! While these are similar, they are definitely NOT dupes. I feel totally justified owning both. LOL Actually my Original is almost gone and I need a back-up!

Comparison Post! A England Guinevere vs. OPI Parlez-vous OPI?

As promised in my last post, I have a comparison between A England Guinevere and OPI Parlez-vous OPI? They're not dupes....they're not even as close I was thinking. They are similar though. The OPI is darker than the A England but they have the same dusty, smoky quality. The OPI is discontinued and HTF so if you have been lemming it the A England might squash it eventhough they're not identical.

In the pics I have Parlez-vous OPI? on my index and ring fingers and Guinevere on my middle finger and pinky. I have 2 coats of each polish, no top coat.

What do you think of these two polishes? I kind of like them together!
Don't forget tomorrow is Moustache Mani Monday for Prostate Cancer Awareness!!
