NOTD: NCLA Rodeo Drive Royalty and A New Nail Shape

Nothing to Disclose

Good evening! I have a new-to-me brand and a new nail shape to show you tonight! I had been eyeing NCLA polishes for a while but hadn't pulled the trigger yet. This one popped up in a blog sale for a great price and I couldn't pass it up! Trying a new brand and it being a vampy red - yes, please!

Paint Box Polish In the Groove and Two Right Feet from The Summer Heat Collection ♥

Press Sample

Good morning! How about kicking off a new week with swatches from a brand new collection? Paint Box Polish is launching a brand new collection called Summer Heat on Wednesday, June 26th and I have two of them to show you now!

I also have a coupon code for my readers so stay tuned until the end for that!

The Summer Heat Collection is inspired by the bright neon colors that Pam, the creator of Paint Box Polish, sees in her Zumba classes. I love neons and these are all great!

These polishes are made up of black circle glitters, black square glitters and iridescent micro-flakes in a colored jelly/crelly base. I was so surprised by the iridescent micro-flakes! I love the micro-flakes! The formula on both of these polishes was fantastic! I didn't have an issue getting the large circle glitters out and onto my nail at all. Any bubbles in the photos are from my topcoat, not the polish.

Girly Bits Spring It On Me! - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Good evening! (Or morning or afternoon, depending on when you're reading this!) I have a fun polish for you tonight that I did not expect to love when I saw it in the bottle, but I ended up loving it a lot!

Girly Bits Spring It On Me! (from the Spring It On Me Collection) is described by Pam (the creator of Girly Bits) as, "Spring It On Me! is a lightly tinted, lavender leaning milky base, with pink, pink holo, green, white, silver, and purple holo glitters. It's meant to be layered, and looks best over light pastel colours, or white or grey." Perfect description!  If you know me, or if you have been following me for a while, you know that I'm not a huge fan of pastels or crellies so honestly I wasn't expecting to love this one. Surprise, I do! I really liked the color of the base and the mix of glitters is so pretty!

I'm sure this looks awesome layered but I wanted to try it on its own first. I used 3 light coats and had no problem with formula or application. I used one coat of topcoat and everything was smooth, this is not a hungry glitter.

NOTE: The bubbles seen in the photos are from my topcoat, not the polish.

Dior - Riviera (Revisited) ♥

Happy Tuesday! I have a polish to show you today that I have shown you before but had a heck of a time capturing the first time. Over the past 9 months or so this has turned into one of my favorite polishes and I wore it on my toes over and over again last summer. Since it's been hot here lately I have been craving corals and oranges and decided to put on my favorite coral.

The formula is superb, I used 2 coats to achieve opaqueness. I haven't met a Dior yet that didn't have an amazing formula. No topcoat in the photos. These photos are how this polish looks the majority of the time but it can look more orange or even red, depending on the lighting. (Excuse the super short nubs, I had a terrible tear last week and they are just starting to recover.)

And the semi-blurry photo that I shared on Instagram last night since it shows the juiciness so well.

What do you think of this one? It is so super yummy and juicy and perfect for the upcoming months!

Dior polishes are available at any store with a Dior Counter, as well as many online e-tailers. Riviera is still available at Dior.com and Sephora.com and retails for $24.

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

piCture pOlish: FOCUS by Pointless Cafe ♥

Good afternoon everyone! I am very excited about the polish I have to show you today! I love it so much that I have worn it 3 times already!

My amazing friend Sheila from Pointless Cafe was one of the bloggers chosen by piCture pOlish (participants were chosen based on their piCture pOlish Blogfest posts) to create her very own polish shade and I think she created quite a stunner! It was originally a limited edition shade but it sold so well that it was announced last night that piCture pOlish would be adding it to their permanent line! This is great news for anyone that hasn't been able to snag a bottle yet (or may want a backup or two.... like me).

Focus is a gorgeous deep red/violet shade the is packed full of iridescent micro-flakes that absolutely glow from within! *SWOON* The formula was great - I had absolutely no issues at all. I would call this one a crelly - it's more opaque than a jelly but still sheer enough that the micro-flakes shine through. Since I have worn this multiple times already, I can tell you that on shorter nails it is opaque in two coats and on longer nails you will generally need a third.  One coat of top coat and you're good to go.

I have a lot of photos of this one (under various lighting situations) and none of them do this polish justice. It is definitely one of those polishes that you have to see in person to truly appreciate.

First up are some shots under artificial lighting...

La Femme Galaxia - Swatches and Review

Happy Hump Day everyone!! I have a stunning purple for you tonight!

La Femme Galaxia (from the Perolado Collection) is a deep purple jelly (or maybe a crelly?) that is packed with micro-flakes! I would call this a jelly because it has that super shiny and squishy finish that shows off the flakes amazingly well but it covered much better than a typical jelly. I used 2 coats and it was almost completely opaque (as you can see in the photos). I had no problem with application, it went on very easily. I topped it off with one coat of Poshe for the photos.

Dior Riviera - Swatches and Review

I have really been craving coral shades lately and I realized I don't own very many of them. I have apparently been neglecting coral for too long.

When I started seeing Dior Riviera pop up on blogs it seemed like the perfect coral and I just had to have it. As I suspected, the color is amazing. It is so bright and juicy. I think juicy is the best word to describe it. I will admit I was expecting a straight creme and was surprised to find out that it is a crelly (in between a creme and a jelly). I usually hate jellies because they are so sheer that you can still see VNL (visible nail line) after several coats of polish. I am happy to report that this was not the case with Riviera! Most blog posts I have seen on this color show 2 coats and they are opaque, I used 3 coats on all fingers except on my index finger where I used 4. As you can tell in the photos, there isn't much of a difference and you can't see VNL on any of them.

I had a VERY hard time capturing the true color of this polish. One reason being that is made my camera go crazy and the other reason being that the color changes quite a bit depending on the light. The first 3 photos are the closest to how the polish looks the majority of the time (excuse the blue fingers) but they don't show the amazingly shiny finish and true brilliance of the polish. All of the other photos show the finish much better and the color in various lighting situations.

I do have on a top coat in these pics because I took them the day after I applied it but it is just as shiny on its own. The formula was superb, as I am coming to expect with all Dior polishes.

I think I caught a little but of the Dior hidden shimmer in the last photo! What do you think of this color? I absolutely love it! It is so fun and summery!!! I think I see a pedi with this color in my near future! I may have to see how it works for a jelly sandwich as well. :)

Riviera is from Dior's Extreme Addict Collection for Summer 2012 and is available in department stores, Dior.com and several other online stores.
