Scottish Thistle Nail Art

Hello everyone! I'm posting today because my best friend is getting married today! Unfortunately I couldn't be there to celebrate with her, but she knows how much I love her and wish I could be there. So I decided to do some nail art as a tribute to her. If you know Sheila (Pointless Cafe) at all, you know she loves Scotland. In fact, she will be getting married and honeymooning there! So, what better way to "be a part of" the wedding than painting a Scottish Thistle?

I was inspired by the clip art image (added to the corner of my picture above) because it had the heart around it. I wish my heart would have turned out better, but overall I'm pretty happy with it!

I used A England Sleeping Palace as my base because it is Sheila's favorite polish (plus it's gorgeous)! The thistle color was created using Illamasqua stance and white polish. The rest was done with acrylic paint.

Long time, no blog! It's been forever since I have done nail art, and even longer since I did freehand nail art. I miss it, but life has just been so busy lately I haven't had much time. I wouldn't say this is a "come back," but I am going to try to make my nail art more of a priority than I have the last few months. Indie Spotlight: 6 Harts Polish

Hello! A small group of blogging friends decided to get together once a month and spotlight indies that we love. These may be smaller brands that don't get a lot of attention, but they deserve a lot of love! We have chosen 6 Harts to kick off the first Indie Spotlight! I'm featuring two polishes today: Bad, Bad Lulu Brown and Bat Crap Crazy. I have had both of these polishes for 2-3 years and there is no fading or issues at all - still like the day I got them!

My replacement camera hasn't arrived yet, so these photos were taken with my phone. They don't do these polishes justice!

I've been so busy I didn't have much time to work on it, and every time I would try to work on it I would get interrupted. I finally finished it last night! Woohoo, it's Friday! To kick off the weekend I have some fun cremes from Glisten and Glow. These colors are bright and fun. Perfect for the weather here this week considering the fact that is was 98 degrees here the last two days (unfortunately). However, these also have amazing formulas that work wonderfully for nail art so they will be great year 'round. Even if you don't live on the surface of the sun, like me.

Hello! Sorry I have been absent the last week, but I am continuing on with the 31 Day Challenge. Better to finish late than never! My current prompt is "inspired by a book" and I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this one! I am semi-cheating because my inspiration photo came from the TV show Game of Thrones, but it was originally a book and the Weirwood Trees were in the books!

Hello everyone! My next prompt in the 31 Day Challenge is "inspired by a movie" and I chose one of my favorites to take inspiration from! I love old movies, one of my favorite genres is the old thriller/mystery movies. When I was around 10 or 12, I discovered Alfred Hitchcock and made it my mission to see all of his movies so I spent a lot of time at video stores hunting down all the VHS tapes! (Yes, I'm that old.) I love everything he's done and his movies are among my favorites that I can watch over and over again. One of them is the classic, Psycho.
