Pahlish A Custom Job - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Hello! I have another Pahlish polish to show you today! This one is a very bright and cheery yellow!

Pahlish A Custom Job

Pahlish A Custom Job is described by the maker as, "Soft neon yellow cream with teal-pink duochrome glassfleck shimmer."  That's a really good description! I actually saw green and pink shimmer, though no teal to my eye.

More photos and review after the jump!

The shimmer and micro-flakes (they look like micro-flakes to me, anyway) in this polish really make it special. If you've been following me for any length of time at all you know I'm not a huge fan of yellow, mostly because it really doesn't look good on me. However, I really loved this shade of yellow and found that it was wearable for me! It has a chartreuse green side to it and I think that's a lot of the reason it looks better on me than other yellows. I love that it's soft but still bright and neon, all at the same time. My camera had a difficult time picking up the pink shimmer but it was definitely there in person.

Out of all the Pahlish's that I have shown you previously, and the ones I have still yet to show you, this is the only one with a problematic formula. Yellow polish inherently has issues so I'm assuming that is the reason but I don't know for sure. I tried it on its own and over white and I prefer how it looks by itself. I only needed 3 coats for complete opaqueness but the formula is hard to work with. It is not self-leveling and it's very hard to get it even on the nail without patches and dragging. You definitely need to make sure each coat is dry before adding another. Topcoat evened this one out a lot - but the top coat did bubble (the polish itself did not bubble).

What do you think of this one? I think it's a gorgeous and unique color and, even with the formula issues, I think it's definitely worth owning if you love yellow or bright colors.
