Milani Retro Glam Collection - Swatches and Review ♥

Press Sample

Good evening! I have a brand spankin' new collection from Milani to show you tonight - the Retro Glam Collection!

This collection consists of 2 pinks, 2 greens, an off-white and a black and white glitter topper.  All of the colors in this collection work very well together and I'm excited to use them in combination with each other soon!

Swatches and review after the jump!

Let's start with the greens, shall we? Both greens are cremes without any shimmer and both applied well. Mint Chip is the darker of the two greens and applied perfectly. I used 2 coats of Mint Chip for the photos. Creamy Pistachio also applied easily but I did need 3 coats (I used thin coats) for opaqueness. No topcoat on either of them.

Almond Bliss is a creamy, off-white creme that looks exactly like the inside of an almond! The formula was a tad touchy on this one. Make sure your coats are dry before adding another and don't over-manipulate it and you should be good. It was nearly opaque with 2 coats but I had a couple of patchy spots so I ended up using 3 thin coats and no topcoat for the photos.

Now for the pinks! Both of these have a slight shimmer running throughout (that my camera did NOT want to capture) to give them a bit of added girly flare. Strawberry Shake is the lighter of the 2 and had a similar formula to Almond Bliss; slightly touchy but not bad as long as you're patient. Raspberry Delight is a deep pink (though I would not consider it a true "raspberry" color) and has an absolutely perfect formula. I used 2 coats and no topcoat. I did a wear test with this one and wore it for nearly 2 days without topcoat and had very little wear. Awesome.

Lastly we have Sprinkles! This is a black and white glitter topper with bars and hexes. This is very similar to Lynnderella Connect the Dots (but does not have the shimmer that CtD has) and Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones. The formula was great in the beginning but I noticed after using it a few times I was having issues with the glitters sticking together. I think that's just because I used it several times in a row, maybe I didn't mix it well enough in between each mani. I did several different looks with the glitter over each of the other colors in this collection. I used one coat of topcoat over Sprinkles and any bubbles seen are from my topcoat, not the polish.

What are your favorites? Mine are Mint Chip and Raspberry Delight! They are all really great though.

This collection will be available starting August 1st at CVS and Meijer stores. You can also find it on Milani's website. Be sure to "like" Milani on Facebook to stay up-to-date!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥
