Christmas Nails 2013

Nothing to Disclose

I know it's the day after Christmas so I am a day late with this post but I didn't get a chance to post this mai yesterday and I wanted to share it with you. Better late than never, right?

For this mani I used Elevation Polish Limestone as my base (my shirt was cream and gold so this went with it perfectly!). I used striping take and Kiko Sugar Mat 643 for the trees and Zoya Solange and Tomoko for the "ornament strings" with glequins for the ornaments. I had no idea what I was going to do when I sat down to do my nails so I was pretty happy with how it turned out considering I started from scratch!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and I'm looking forward for what the new year has in store!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥

Crisscross (Quilted) Texture Gradient ♥

I have a fun post for you tonight! My friend Jacki over at Adventures in Acetone has started posting tutorials on her blog every Tuesday (aptly named Tutorial Tuesday). She has done several that I want to try but I decided to start with her Crisscross Texture Gradient! (You can see her post and tutorial here.)

MANIc Monday! Gradient Laser Mani ♥

Hello and welcome to MANIc Monday! I am excited to introduce this new feature to my blog! Every Monday will now be MANIc Monday (get it, MANIc as in mani - hehe) and I will feature some sort of nail art. I may try to copy an amazing mani I've seen elsewhere or come up with something on my own. I really enjoy trying to do nail art but I don't seem to always make time for it. This way I will make myself make time for it! Hopefully it will help me improve my art skills as well!

For today's design I decided to copy a mani that I saw from two of my favorite nail bloggers (and people that I am happy to call friends!) - Amy at I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous and Sheila at Pointless Café

First up is Amy's amazing mani. For the direct link to her post, click here

And next up is Sheila's awesome mani. For a direct link to her post, click here.

I don't have the gorgeous long nails that these ladies have so my striping tape and gradient goes about halfway up my nail but I still love the way it turned out! I started out with a base of Kiko #327 (Granite Grey/Grigio Granite) - a medium grey creme. I then sponged on Kiko #400 Grey Holo. I added topcoat and waited for that to dry before adding my striping tape and sponging on SoFLaJo Black Dagger. I did not add topcoat because I really love Black Dagger's leather finish!

And here is a quick pic of my base, Kiko #327,  by itself...

So, what do you think? Did I do this design justice? What do you think of MANIc Monday? I hope you enjoy - I can't wait to try more nail art!

Black and White and Red All Over... ♥

Happy Thursday! We are creeping closer to the weekend and that makes me a happy woman!

I have some fun nail art to show you today. I had been wanting to do a red, black and white mani for a while but everything I tried didn't turn out like I wanted it to. I was playing around last night and came up with this and I love it!

I used Cult Nails Annalicious as my base - once that was dry I sponged white, very carefully, over that and let it dry. I then used striping tape and a plain black creme to create the stripes.  I used Lynnderella Connect the Dots on my accent nails. All topped off with one coat of Poshe.

Red and Black, Split in Half

Happy Saturday! This is the first chance I have had to sit down and take a breath all day so I am just going to show you a quick and easy nail art mani I wore earlier this week. I super duper love this mani!

I had been wearing Chanel Dragon for a day and wanted to do some type of nail art with it so I decided to do a tape mani using SoFlaJo Black Dagger (yes, again - I really love this polish!). I really love the outcome!

Leather and Rhinestones ♥

Happy Saturday!! It's a cloudy, rainy day here in Arizona which makes me one happy woman!

I am so excited to show you the nail design I'm wearing today! I did this nail art last night and had planned on posting it after I reviewed both of these polishes, but I was too excited to wait! I started out with a base of Ninja Polish Nebula and used striping tape with SoFlaJo Black Dagger on top.

I will be posting these polishes alone in the next couple of days but in the mean time, you can see reviews at Pointless Cafe at the following links: Ninja Polish Nebula and SoFlaJo Black Dagger.

The amazing blinginess of Nebula and the AWESOME leather finish of Black Dagger make for a wicked combo.
