Let's Talk Thinner!

Good morning! I have a little bit different type of post for you this morning. Hopefully this one will save you some money! 

If you have been into polish very long you are probably already familiar with nail polish thinner. It is must have if you have older polish and/or you polish your nails often. You may have heard that you don't need thinner because you can use nail polish remover or straight acetone because it does the same thing. Wrong!! I have been a polish addict since I was a little kid so I have some pretty old polish. While most of my really old stuff is long gone I do still have a few favorites that I still use on occasion. While growing up I heard the "acetone is the same as thinner" bit and one day I used acetone in one of my favorite older polishes because it was getting too thick to use. The acetone completely ruined the polish. I had used acetone in the past and it had worked and not ruined the polish so while it may work sometimes, it doesn't work all the time. Not to mention it's not good for your nails. So, in other words, you need nail polish thinner! I have tried 3 different brands of nail polish thinner and I have found that there is only one that is worth spending my money on, but which one?

Darling Diva Polish Queen Inspired Collection - Swatches and Review ♥

Good evening! Today has truly been a Monday but I have part of an amazing new collection that will knock your socks off! The Queen Collection from Darling Diva Polish consists of SIX linear holographic multi-chrome polishes and I have 3 to show you - Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. 

These polishes are so amazing and have so many personalities that I had a really hard time narrowing down the photos. So, as usual, I have a ton! LOL The formula on all 3 was amazing. I used 3 thin coats and no topcoat for all of them but I think 2 regular coats would be opaque as well. (I tend to use thin coats because the heat here in Arizona makes my polish bubble and thinner coats helps that not to happen.)

My camera would not play nice and I had a hard time capturing ALL of the colors these shift to so keep in mind that they are even better in person!

Textured Nail Art Series - Third Installment ♥

Happy Hump Day!  I have another installment of my textured nail art series using Kiko Sugar Mats tonight!

 In case you missed my previous posts in this series (which I will link at the bottom), Kiko Sugar Mats are coming soon to Ninja Polish! Sheila from Pointless Cafe swatched all of them for you and I will be doing nail art to coordinate with each swatch post that she did (possibly more than one nail art post, depending on the colors in the swatch post). Today I am using 3 polishes from Part 2 of her 4 part series, which you can find here, #635, #636 and #637. The Sugar Mat Collection is made up of 16 polishes - 8 non-shimmers and 8 shimmers. All of these are the non-shimmers. All three had great formulas and were very easy to work with.

Fashion on my Fingertips - Nail Art Post ♥

Good evening! Just a quick post tonight to show you a mani I did on Saturday and am still currently wearing. I was going to a birthday dinner and wanted to match the pattern of my shirt on my nails. I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

Dior Nuit 1947 (970) - Swatches and Review ♥

Happy Friday! I have a brand new Dior to show you today! Dior Nuit 1947 is from the Rouge Dior Collection for Autumn 2013 which also includes three other nail polishes - Rouge, Trafalgar and Darling. I don't have any of the others - yet. 

                                                                                   

As much as I have always loved red, and red nail polish, this is my first true vampy red crelly and I am head-over-heels in love! I had a "nail mishap" last night and had to cut my nails very short. I was very sad about that, especially since I had just gotten this polish and couldn't wait to put it on. Well, surprise, I actually love it on my super nubs! (I still wish they weren't quite so short but luckily they have been growing pretty quickly lately.)

Chanel Khaki Vert ♥

Happy Wednesday! Today started off badly and stayed that way for a while but I think this afternoon might be looking up a little! To cheer myself up after a rough morning I want to show you a lovely gift I received over the weekend. I have wanted the Chanel Les Khakis Collection for a long time but, as I'm sure you know, it is long gone and when you do find them they tend to go for top dollar. The polish I wanted the most out of this collection is Khaki Vert but I had pretty much accepted the fact that I would never own any of them. That is until I received it from a lovely friend this weekend! I have met so many amazing women through our love of nail polish and we have formed friendships and I am so thankful for that. I never thought when I was a kid with a polish obsession that it would lead to all of this but I am so happy that it did!
